A Love Letter To The Writers I Follow

Although I may not read everything you write, I still cherish you

Dearest Writer;

I remember clearly the early days of my writing journey here. The excitement of receiving those first few claps on a story I wrote. And even better, the occasional positive responses. How unexpected and uplifting those were.

The joy of gaining a new follower. I knew them all by name back then. [I don’t think there were as many follower hackers at the time. Or maybe my “writing” was too obscure or unusual to bother with.]

The delight of finding a new writer to follow. Reading my first Roy story stands out clearly in my memory. Discovering there were uniquely funny people on Medium was a great moment for me.

How I looked forward to every new story by the writers I followed.

Then there was the thrill of having my first story published in a publication. Thank you, DiAmaya Dawn, for taking a chance on a raw, clueless amateur.

And I will never forget the kind encouragement and occasional teasing of A Maguire, who made me feel like I could actually do this.

I am so grateful to you all.
