Over-produced, loop-heavy, layered, brick wall-limited pop music is not going to reveal much musical detail anyway, so bit rate is not a big deal. It’s just fatiguing to listen to.

And I agree, wood cabinets do seem to add warmth to speakers.

And most consumers wrongly equate bass with audio quality. So bass is what they get.
