Angry rants are far more enjoyable to the writer than the reader. Sure, many like to partake in that shared anger occasionally. But if it becomes a trend, I avoid it. I unfollowed writers who wrote funny and smart stories, then sadly, they turned to constant complaining. And other writers whose writing became mainly critical. Perhaps those stories made more money. Or they started to believe that their opinions actually mattered to the masses. But they came across as condescending and pompous. And the complainers just seemed bitter, and mired in self-pity. We all feel that way at times, but I don’t want to wallow in someone else’s bitterness or pompousness over and over. Life is too short.

I prefer to write a rant, then skip the publishing part. I have several of those in my Scrivener file. Where they will stay.
