Why My Favorite Reads?
When I started writing on Medium in February of 2018, one of the writers I follow, A Maguire, posted a story called Recommended Reading (with a Roman numeral I do not recall.) The story contained links to several stories. I followed the links and found stories I enjoyed.
I thought her list was a great idea, so I began doing my own version called My Favorite Medium Reads. I have posted a new My Favorite Medium Reads every month since then — on the first day of the month. They are consistently among my most popular stories each month.
A little over two years later, I have decided to locate them all in a single publication to make them easy to access.
It is very easy to miss great stories on Medium — especially creative writing. So I hope My Favorite Reads will become a place where fiction, humor, and poetry lovers can visit to find recommendations for the good stuff, the overlooked, and the ignored.
My Favorite Reads is a place to celebrate those writers who swim against the Medium non-fiction tide. Who write from the heart. Who value imagination. Who entertain. The creative writers.
