Microfiction Inspired By Song Titles
Hannah was attending the first annual Altered Human Conference. She wanted to mingle with other humans who had been transformed by the strange space radiation that had struck Earth and changed the DNA of countless humans.
Hannah had mutated into a straw/human hybrid. Her skin was coarse and dry like straw, but not her heart.
During the first session, Hannah met a young man named Vesuvius. He was witty and charming — and so hot! Soon they were inseparable.
But in a cruel twist of fate, the young man had transformed into a lava/human hybrid.
Although they felt a strong connection, Hannah and Vesuvius were not physically compatible. Their budding romance simply could not work.
At the end of the conference, they said their heartbreaking goodbyes. Hannah’s tears softened her straw cheeks. Vesuvius’ tears steamed away as they rolled down his lava skin.
Strange Space Radiation is a cruel, cruel thing.
