Desert Mountain Canyon Hiking Biking Five State Road Trip • Day 2 A.M.
Leaving Las Vegas & Bryce Canyon (Nevada & Utah)

After spending the night at The Luxor hotel in Las Vegas, we got up early and headed out. As we exited the elevator we were greeted by a group of the “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” people who were just then heading to their rooms. We did the dodge and weave to match their movements and somehow got around them. Next, we ran the casino gauntlet with our luggage in tow and made it to the parking lot and our rental car.
We had a four-hour drive ahead of us. Cue the Born To Be Wild driving music.
The sun was shining as we pulled onto the freeway. I was pumped up with the start of a new vacation adrenaline. I was looking forward to the adventure waiting ahead in Utah, but not this next section of road. It is not a very scenic drive, unless you consider mostly desolate gray and tan desert scenic.
