I don’t usually do “favorites” lists because I have a gazillion favorites when it comes to music. So I decided to make it easier and limit my five to the 1970s when I was a teenager blasting these albums on vinyl or 8-track. These five got the most plays.

I must also preface this by saying I was a budding guitar player at the time, so they all feature abundant guitar playing.

Live Bullet

Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band

I grew up in Michigan (so did Bob Seger.) So owning this album was required by state law. This double-live album was Bob Seger in his hungry days before he became a superstar with Night Moves and mellowed out. The energy on this album is unbelievable. And the songs are great. Just what you want from a live album.
