I agree on following the publishers of publications you write for and readers you like. But I don't mind if less "follow for follow" hackers don't follow me. They never read my stories anyway.

I personally only follow writers I want to read. Why would I want to fill my feed with stories I have no interest in by following everyone?

It is obvious only a small fraction of my 2.1k followers have ever read one of my stories. They are the true followers. The rest are just numbers.
