I also saw the Slackjaw Humor Writing Challenge! post and read the rules. Afterward, I thought to myself (because no one else listens to my thoughts — I hope) “Hey, satire actually is funny! That long set of rules was satire, correct? It has to be.”

Or do professional funny writers really do humor by committee, using proven formulas? Does that really work? Well, I guess it did on The Allen Brady show on the Dick Van Dyke Show. But I doubt if Dick Van Dyke is looking to critique my humor at his age.

Oh well, I guess I will just keep cranking out “any old humor” in obscurity.
