I am no expert on the subject. I just thought I was weird, until my daughter showed me an article about it (she has it also.) Apparently people have different “trigger sounds” including chewing, yawning, heavy breathing, and whistling. The last three don’t bother me at all. I am not nearly as sensitive to chewing as I used to be, but I still hate chewing gum. LOL!
Stress and lack of sleep make it worse.
