I followed one writer who wrote wonderful fiction, then they started writing essays on controversial topics and got featured by Medium. I guess the payday (or semi-fame) was too much too resist. That is all they write now. I unfollowed.

I am not blaming them. Fiction is not a big money-maker on Medium. We all know that. And we all need to eat. I just have no interest in reading their opinion on the controversy of the day.
