I know many people idolize John Lennon. But I could never warm up to him. I think he was an idealist and a “dreamer”, but also emotionally troubled with a mean streak. A walking contridiction (like many of us.) Paul always seemed to be the level-headed Beatle to me. Of course, no one is perfect, and fame can do a number on anyone. And they were all subject to an insane amount of adoration. Which had to affect them in different ways.

But that is the perception I always got.
