I like the concept of Patreon — direct support of creators. But it’s implementation is poor in my opinion. Requiring rewards for support is too much extra work. And forcing you to become a continual Patreon promoter and “explainer” in order to get supporters is unpleasant for both the creator and the people you have to constantly bug for support. It seems to only works if you already have a massive fan base.

And its website is AWFUL. It is basically a sales pitch for Patreon. You can’t find any content easily, only a listing of Top Creators. Honestly, who would go there if someone hadn’t asked them to support them?

I think Patreon failed you as much or more then you failed using it.
