I love the Latest From Following icons also. And I agree, pinning more than one story is counterproductive. I only pin one story, a categoried index of all my stories. Using image links for categories, it doesn't take up much space, and allows readers to easily find all of my stories if they choose to. The next story down is my latest story. A reasonable trade-off, I think.
