I married at age 20 and am still married to the same remarkable woman 38 years later. I see marriage as an ever-changing adventure, not a fairy tale. Marriage is full of struggle and pain, joy and elation. Life. The things that strengthen real love over time. I view us as a team. Learning together and helping each other as we go.
Perhaps we are an exception, or perhaps I was smart enough, at a young age, to marry a great woman before someone else did. (She was equally as smart. LOL!)
My three daughters all married in their early to mid 20s also. I was a Grandfather at age 46. And now have four grandsons at age 59.
It lasted.
