I plan to respect the wishes of the publications I submit to. If they want to remain partner program free, I will honor their wishes and submit unlocked stories. It is not a deal breaker for me.

I mainly submit to creative writing and humor publications because I like the people who run them and I want support their effort to promote those ignored-by-Medium topics. I also enjoy being part of the community of writers on the publication. I do get some extra visibilty on publications, but it is not my driving motivation.
