I Saw A Penny Rolling Down The Street
So I followed it
I thought about starting this story with “One day,” but that kind of goes without saying, doesn’t it? Of course, it was one day. Unless it was one night. But if it had been night, I probably wouldn’t have been able to see a penny rolling down the street. It’s not like I have night vision goggles with me all of the time.
And I am no superhero. At least according to The Avengers and The Justice League, who both insist that double-jointed thumbs do not qualify a superpower. I disagree and have stated my case vigorously on many occasions, but they would not be swayed. Superheroes are like that. They think they are the ultimate authorities on superpowers. But one day (probably not one night), they are going to regret that decision. Watch and see.
Anyway, one day, I was walking down the street. There was a decidedly downward slant to the road, which makes using the term “up the street” a factual error. So I will not even consider using that terminology despite it sounding more intriguing. I have a reputation for factuality in my writing that I must uphold at all costs.
