I started working for Midway Airlines in 1979 right out of high school. And then went to Northwest Airlines (better pay, benefits) from 1986–2006. I worked the ramp. Loading and unloading aircraft. Neither airline exists any more. Delta Airlines bought Northwest shortly before I lost my job. I took early retirement at age 46 to keep my flight benefits. But I still needed to eat, so I started teaching guitar. The only other thing I was good at.
