I tried the Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos when I got the email from Apple. It sounded awful to me. Like they stripped all the reverb so they could "place" things. They featured What's Going On? from mono to stero to Atmos.

Some thing were easier to hear in Atmos, like the different voices in the begining and the guitars, but everything sounded dry and dull. The high end seem to be rolled off everything. That signature "submarine" reverb on the percussion was missing. The song sounded weak compared to the Stereo version. None of the song I listened to were improved in my opinion. It may work for movies, but it doesn't work for music, in my opinion. At least not yet.

It feels like digital trickery that doesn't really work on existing music .

Plus they tried this already with Quadraphonic in the 70s. No one cared then. I doubt many will really like it now. Sorry, Apple. This was a mistake.
