In Jr. High (no shop class for us before that) they made us make wooden wall-hanging flying half ducks with copper wings. Like anyone wanted one of those hanging on their wall. A bench (even a slanted one) would have been more useful.

Now being a guitar player, I avoid power tools if at all possible. My grandfather was a carpenter, and he cut off the top half of his index finger.
