James, it is fun to become a top writer. Enjoy the moment. But it seems to be the result of simply writing several posts with the same tag.

Sports doesn’t seem to have much of an audience on Medium. Neither does music. Writing (no surprise), self-help, productivity, and politics (of course) seem to be the most popular.

I read an occasionally post about writing, but none of the other big topics. I prefer the hidden valleys of Medium where fiction, humor, and other creative writing lives. Those are my top writers.
