Pop music tends to focuses on production over songwriting. And follows whatever trend is selling at the moment. Originality is not valued as much as sales (or streams.)

But there is still a lot of great, unique, original music being made. You just won’t hear much on the radio or on Spotify playlists. You have to dig for it.
