Robert, the stats are a little wacky because Medium counts Responses as Stories. So if you respond to a story and say “I liked your story.” and 100 people see your response, it will count as 100 extra views in your stats. Same thing if someone reads or claps for you response. It counts. Which makes no sense to me, but that’s Medium’s choice.

If you start a story it is a View. If you finish a story it is a Read. Fans are the number of readers who clapped for your story.

You will find every kind of writing on Medium. Medium favors non-fiction, trending topic stories. But there is blogging, writing as therapy, creative writing, and just about everything else. You have to dig to find the stuff you like. When you find a story you like, follow the writer. Then use “New From My Network..” to see what they have written. You can use tags to search for stories also.

Enjoy the show.
