Sadly, I think this is true of all the creative fields now. Anyone can publish a book, anyone can produce an album, anyone can take a photograph, anyone can make a video. And they do. The amount of content is overwhelming. How do people find the good stuff in a sea of mediocrity? And who wants to slog through it all to find the gems. The competition is almost insurmountable. Very few can make a livable wage at it.
I know several musicians who were putting out excellent records that have simply quit. No one is buying music anymore and they simply couldn’t make a living at it.
Creatives have become content providers for Amazon, Spotify, YouTube, 500px, etc. They make money…
A few manage to find a way (or get lucky.) I hope you beat the odds.
