Rising with the sunrise
To beat the searing heat
Rust-colored buttes of rock
Stretch toward the sky

Let’s go right.

Dusty hiking shoes find their way
Down trails amid the brush
A dry riverbed bids to us
Follow me a while
We accept

Farther from the road we travel
Farther from the loads we know
We shrink amid nature’s presence
And marvel at the wonder of it all
