Stephen, I also like what I call “series” stories (using my own writer terminology.) Like my Hollister Bootstone stories. You can read one and it is a self-contained story, but if you read them all you get a bigger picture and see the threads running through them.

But serial stories that are a single story in multiple parts, seem to be the ones that get abandoned. Or go weeks or months without a new part. I can’t remember what was happening after a couple of days. If I have to wait weeks, I’m lost. If a serial story isn’t published regularly and frequently, I’d rather wait until all of the parts are published before starting it. Then binge read it. LOL!
