Two Minute Tales is a publication focusing on short tales. When we say short stories, we mean it. Two minutes or less. If you want to tell your tale on Two Minute Tales here is what you need to know.
What I Am Looking For
(an account of imaginary people and/or events told for entertainment)
Complete stories. What kind?
What I Am Not Looking For
Non-fiction (Make something up!)
Essays or opinion pieces or criticism. (Medium loves those stories. There are lots of publications specilizing in them. Not this one.)
Poetry (There are many great publications for poetry, I’m focusing on short stories.)
Incomplete or partial stories (Don’t leave me hanging.)
Novel excerpts (see incomplete or partial stories above.)
Stories I can’t understand.
Submission Guidelines (please read before submitting a story)
Tales should clock in as 2 minute reads on Medium. Roughly 500 words is a good goal. A little over two minutes is fine. Check the read time on Grammarly or Scrivener or your preferred writing tool. Medium rounds up to the next minute, so a 2:15 story will show as a 3 minutes read on Medium. That’s fine.
Please proof-read and spell-check your stories before submitting. You can use Grammarly (it’s free.) I don’t have the time or desire to edit your story or fix its grammar (which is not my strong suit anyway.)
Only one submission per day. This is a one-man show. If I get overwhelmed, I shut down like an online game server. Please don’t break me.
I won’t promise fame or fortune or exposure or a huge number of views. I write for pleasure. I don’t do much promotion.
If you made it through all that and you are still interested. Wow! Congratulations. Send a link to your story draft (I am not accepting already published stories) to: email@example.com
If I like what I read, I will make you a writer on Two Minute Tales and you can submit your story.
Thank you, two minute storyteller.
