The community of writers and readers on Medium is valuable. It may not translate to much money, but having an audience and community of fellow writers (friends) is worth a lot. At least, to me.

Yes, Medium is maddening at times, and money often clouds what is really important. Especially when you try to earn money doing what you love. Sometimes we need to re-evaluate and adjust our perspective.
