The one constant on the internet is change. Facebook was fun from 2008 until 2010. Then it changed. Humans are well-known for ruining anything good. They will probably ruin Medium also. But most humans also require hope to stay mentally healthy. We hope for the best, but must face facts eventually. If something no longer meets our needs or provides enjoyment it is wise to move on. Unfortunately, there is currently nothing else like Medium for independent writers to take its place. So I will hope for the best and keep my eyes open. And enjoy the ride as long as possible.

Scaling way back or taking a long break might help with the burnout. I am currently three months into a break from a band I am leading. I had to do it to salvage my love of making music. I was burned out.
