The "show don't tell" style of writing can easily become over the top (or pretentious) and feel like showing off. It should be used with restraint and be appropriate, in my opinion.

If I want "show, don't tell", I 'd rather watch the movie. 🤣

Long descriptions can also become tedious. Leave some room for my imagination!
