The whole point of GarageBand is anyone can use it to make music. Even non-musicians. It is a shame more people don’t try it. It is fun to use. It is a very underrated piece of software. Probably because it is free.
I normally use Digital Performer as my DAW, but I use GarageBand to collaborate with other musicians on songs because we all have it. It is easy to share a folder on Dropbox and keep GarageBand song files in it. It makes working on songs and always having the latest version easy.
GarageBand has its limitations and quirks, but is surprisingly powerful once you dig a little deeper than just playing with the included loops. It’s a good way to start learning music production for free. And you can always upgrade to Logic if you want more capabilities.
