There seems to be an epidemic of people trying to “hack” Medium, and people writing articles telling them how. I can’t imagine they truly enjoy the experience of doing endless self-promotion and constantly writing about self-promotion. It seems like an empty numbers game to me. I occasionally read one of these articles out of curiousity, or hoping for something useful, but it is usually the same old self-promotional stuff everyone else is peddling.

It’s not the way I choose to do Medium. Or the people I want to follow. I am fine with a small following if they actually like my writing.
