Those ground wasps are nothing but mean and ornery and evil. Last year, they built a nest in the pine straw around one of my trees and then attacked me unprovoked while I was mowing my lawn. I got several painful stings on my legs and back. They even flew up my shirt to sting me!
I had to slam my back into the house brick wall and then pull off my shirt to escape. I blasted their nest hole with wasp spray and then put a huge rock over it. For several days wasps buzzed around the rock trying to get in, but they eventually gave up. I haven’t been stung this year.
