Shannon staged homes for a living. Making houses look warm and inviting for potential buyers was her business. And business was good. Her reputation was growing, and she no longer needed to advertise. Word of mouth by satisfied clients was enough to keep her busy.

When she wasn’t staging houses, one of Shannon’s favorite things to do was visit thrift stores. She always seemed to find wonderful things for next to nothing, thanks to well-off people redecorating or getting rid of things they had grown tired of.

On her latest trip to the thrift store, she couldn’t believe her luck. Sitting there on a shelf were four adorable stuffed toys. She quickly snatched them all and headed for the cashier.

“Aren’t they adorable? Who would want to get rid of these?” Shannon asked Diane, the cashier.

“They just came in this morning,” Diane replied.

“I love them. I am keeping them for myself.”

“They really are something. That will be ten dollars total.”

“Thanks, Diane.”

As Shannon walked out of the store, Diane snickered and said, “See you later, fellas.”

Shannon hurried home. She had a client meeting that afternoon, and she wanted to grab lunch before going. Shannon pulled the four…
