Well, I discovered the reality of writing fiction on Medium long ago. I struggled with submitting this poem, as I thought it would seem too much of a self pity party. But I decided to submit it anyway and see what others thought. I figured some could relate.

Even with the low reads on my fiction, I am truly thrilled that anyone reads any of my stories and then comments. And seriously, don’t feel any obligation to read my fiction. I skip a lot of stories that don’t interest me (I rarely read haikus.) And that is the way I want it for my writing. I want people to want to read them.
