Household pets are well-known for quirky behavior that is tolerated when they perform it, yet would be appauling were a human to take up the habit. I refer to things like licking your own butt while lying in the middle of the living room. Or sniffing your own poop. I shall refrain from any more examples.

If you feel the need to comb your hair with a cactus, I cannot stop you, but would urge you to not press too firmly.
