Well said. Parents need to parents. Set boundaries and discipline them when they exceed those boundaries. Don’t take the easy way out and give in when they get upset. Let them be mad at you. It will pass. It teaches them respect for your authority. And shows them that you love them. Although they probably won’t see it until they are older.

Of course, that needs to be balanced with lots of love, affection, and encouragement.
