What Can I Say?

When I have no words

What can I say?

What can I say?
When hearts are so callous
And mine is so fragile

What can I say?
When lives have no value
And considered less than human

What can I say?
When I can’t truly understand
And haven’t worn those shoes

What can I say?
When words bring no change
Can actions speak louder?

What can I say?
When justification is their first thought
I can’t listen

What can I say?
When ingrained prejudice is clung to in secret
And yet so obvious

What can I say?
When politics are valued over people
I grow weary of banging my head against the wall of blind loyalty and close-mindedness

What can I say?
When control is valued over service
And considered leadership

What can I say?
When madness becomes normal
Is this what we really want?

What can I say?
When hate is more prevalent than love
Who is my neighbor?

What can I say?
When I want to rant
But have no words

What can I say?

What can I say?
