You said it best when you said, “You’ll never be anything other than the best possible you.” And why would you want to? I hate it when someone says, “this story/song/comic reminds me of insert famous writer/musician/artist.” I know it is meant as a compliment, but I don’t want to be a clone of anyone else. I would rather have them tell someone else, “This reminds me of Mark Starlin.” LOL!

That’s not going to happen, but I would rather be known for my originality and creativity by a handful of people than be a successful copy of anyone else.

Most successful creative people are successful by being original. Not by envying others or wishing they were famous/successful, but by putting on the blinders and doing the work, and being creative and original.
