Your friend is smart. Sometimes it’s better to just let it go. Especially if it’s arguing for the sake of arguing. If it accomplishes nothing, why bother? To prove yourself right? How fleeting and hollow is that victory.

The growing lack of civility in America is probably our most dangerous fault. We don’t have to agree on everything to be kind to each other (hint: calling someone an idiot is not being kind.) We need to stop embracing hate (and, no, politics is not a valid exception.) Harboring hatred in our hearts is self-destructive.
